Donuts, a Beat Up '77 Ford Maverick, and a Pink Boombox

Dropping in on the newly refurbished garage roof - Mortar House, Seattle, WA circa 2003
Well, I laid it all on the ‘rolling’ table in a recent ‘from the heart’ interview with Canvas Rebel. Looking back from my humble beginnings scrubbing trays at my family's donut shop in NW Ohio, to slashing/stumbling my way through college in Seattle, and then hitting the road with $900, a beat-up '77 Ford Maverick, and a pink boombox blasting the unmistakable sounds of ZZ Top, Slayer, and Creedence Clearwater Revival all the way down to Reno. It's been a journey of chasing dreams, finding myself, carving out a career, starting a family, and wrestling with the dark shadows of anxiety and self-doubt. To start Gregg Design Company, I had to channel my inner 20-something's fearless spirit, all while trying to keep myself together, with the support and love of my family propelling me forward. Whew, that's quite the mouthful, I know! So, why not grab your favorite cup of coffee, a powdered Bavarian cream donut, and dive into the full story below? I'm all ‘elephant’ ears for your thoughts, reactions, or even a music recommendation to add to our road trip playlist! (20-30 minutes read time) Not included in the story: The Maverick only lasted 2 months in Reno as I lost the keys in San Francisco, and the engine overheated with the Reno heat! Ya know, careless and free and not very responsible. It's a path that, looking back, I am proud of, and I fully understand how lucky I am to be here and to be providing the work that offers myself purpose and rewards for our clients. I would love to hear from you! - Anthony, Survivor of the Maverick Odyssey

It’s more than a Playlist, it’s our Backbone.
Imagine the sensation of a live wire under your skin - the kind you get from a hazy ZZ Top riff, intertwined with the celestial howls of Judas Priest. It's that irresistible urge to crank the volume, throw the windows wide open, and dive headfirst into the experience. Ah, those brief, yet monumental, bursts of bliss! Prepare yourself, though, as it's time for a swift gear shift, akin to the surprise of a traffic light flipping to green when you least expect it. This playlist serves as the perfect backdrop for those late-night garage sessions, where you stumble upon an old mixtape that crackles to life just as the clock strikes two minutes to midnight. It's for those misty walks with the Shangri-Las that lead past the cemetery gates that awaken your inner spirit. It captures those moments of calm when you're on cruise control, with the road ahead yours to define. So, sit back, enjoy the ride, hit fast forward, rewind, and embrace the loop.
